EU Interreg South Baltic Programme – project BALTIC PASS started with a kick off meeting in Gdansk 2017 January 12th / 13th.
The expected result of the project is to increase popularity of natural and cultural maritime heritage areas and sites as sustainable tourism destinations, floating maritime heritage included.
The goals shall be achieved by creating, developing and promoting new eco-friendly tourist products based on historical regional and international sailing paths, executed by traditional sailing vessels operating on those routes to combine sailing with exploring maritime heritage. BALTIC MARITIME HERITAGE TOURS is the working title of the products.
Project leader is the polish sports and recreation center Gdansk (Miejski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji w Gdańsku MOSiR), well known as owner / operator of the sail training vessel GENERAL ZARUSKI. Partners are Klaipeda University (Lithuania) , owner and operator of STS BRABANDER, Simrishamn Scouts, the TS SARPEN sailing committee (Sweden), Roskilde Business College (Denmark) and Bureau Hanse Sail Rostock (Germany).
The project duration is 36 months until November 2019.
