The heart of the Baltic Countries
Riga, the capital of Latvia and heart of the Baltic States is located on the shores of the Daugava River where it flows into the Baltic Sea. In 1282 Riga became the member of the Hanseatic League. Ever since Riga has been a dynamic port city on the trade route between the Western Europe and the East. The Riga Bay is a gentle sailing area inviting to enjoy long summer days and warm nights on endless sandy beaches. The newly built Riga City Yacht Club is offering modern berthing amenities as well as beautiful view of Riga skyline across the Daugava River.
Riga Sailing Festival is an official event of the Riga City Festival – the annual celebration offering a colorful culture and entertainment program in the streets and parks, on the Daugava River and in the sky above the city to residents and guests of the city.
